Connection priority
The integration method should follow vendor support, client authority, data sensitivity, workflow consequence, expected volume, and the ability to detect and recover from failure.

A connection retrieves or exchanges information. Ingestion still has to classify, normalize, match, validate, preserve provenance, and route exceptions before the result becomes dependable operational data.

Each method preserves the original source, matches information through stable identifiers, validates updates, and makes uncertain cases visible.
Collect approved CSV, spreadsheet, PDF, or report exports on a defined schedule and retain source history.

Browser-only portals
Browser workflows require explicit authority, narrow access, evidence capture, validation, failure handling, and monitoring because portal interfaces and authentication flows can change.

StructuredLayer does not bypass CAPTCHAs, MFA, access controls, paywalls, or platform restrictions without explicit authorisation and a permitted technical method. Credentials belong in an approved secrets manager, not in workflow records or assessment responses.
After the data layer is reliable
Lower-risk automation still requires testing, monitoring, permissions, and a defined review path. The reliable data layer makes those controls practical.
Human approval remains
Bid/no-bid decisions, final estimates, submissions, external communication, contracts, change orders, financial commitments, deletion, access changes, and low-confidence conflicts stay with authorised people.
